Control of Mobile Devices

Unauthorized use of peripheral devices on corporate computers can create security risks and support nightmares. USB thumb drives and other portable storage devices represent a danger to corporate data. Users who plug them into computers may inadvertently introduce viruses or spyware. Even worse, employees can copy large amounts of confidential data to these devices—and you won’t know in whose hands this data will end up. DriveLock gives you complete and granular control over who is allowed to connect which device to a corporate computer. You can also control what users can copy to or from these devices. For example, you can prevent the use of music players, portable hard drives and novelty items, such as coffee warmers—without blocking approved devices, such as keyboards, mice and printers.

Encryption of Mobile Data

There are times when employees have a legitimate need to copy data to mobile devices. However, laptop computers, flash drives, CDs, smartphones and PDAs are frequently lost. With the comprehnsive encryption features of DriveLock you can be confident that such a loss won’t result in the disclosure of confidential data. From Full Disk Encryption to burning encrypted CDs, DriveLock has the tools to keep your data confidential, no matter what device they're stored on.

Easy, Efficient Administration

DriveLock easily integrates with your existing IT infrastructure by utilizing the Group Policy feature of Microsoft’s Active Directory. Other network operating systems like Novell NDS are also supported. Centralized reporting alerts you to potential problems. These features help to keep training and support costs low, resulting in a high return on investment (ROI). DriveLock combines granular control over most types of peripherals and mobile devices with centralized administration and ease of use.

Terminal server option

The DriveLock Terminal server option allows control of mobile devices in a terminal services environment, either for Windows Terminal Services as well as Citrix Presentation Server. Using this feature your thin-client infrastructure is also well protected.

Network profiles

DriveLock automatically detects your current network location (e.g. office or home network) and reconfigures your policy. Using this feature DriveLock can change its applied policy as well as other system settings (e.g. Internet Explorer proxy, default printer) based on the network location. This feature can also eliminate other risks (cross-network links). It is also possible to temporarily or permanently disable network adapters as soon as a computer is connected to a foreign network.

Application Launch Filter

DriveLock can block the execution of applications running on a computer or in a Terminal Services session. This feature protects against Zero-Day-exploits where no patches or anti-virus definitions yet exist.
